Not too long ago, I picked up my first-ever pair of Golden Goose sneakers (you might remember seeing them in a recent post), and have been asked a lot about them ever since. So many that I decided it was finally time to do a full write-up! I’ve also worn them enough now that I understand how they really perform, and a number of other aspects about them, which you’ll see broken down further.

Where did you buy them?
Cettire had them on sale and I jumped on it right away!

How does the sizing run?

How comfy are they?
Very comfy, and only took a few hours to break in..
Do they hold up well?
They look worn from the start, I didn’t worry about wearing them outside. I’ve worn them all over NYC, and I’m impressed with the durability. The laces are intact, and the structure feels strong. Thanks to the vintage look, I can’t even tell if there’s new wear and tear.
How are they vs. other brands?
These are the best sneakers I own. I love my Vejas and Tretorns, but Golden Goose still come out on top. There’s a secret wedge inside that adds support and height — making your legs look longer. Also, they’re handmade in small batches, so each pair is custom-feeling. And the shine on mine? Absolutely gorgeous.
Would you recommend them?
Totally! Just try not to pay full price. They cost a lot, so getting them with a promo is a better idea. I’d pay several hundred for the quality, especially if you get a pair you love. Mine have pink glitter, but a neutral version would also be smart.

They ran true to size for me — I usually wear a size 6, and I went with a European 36. They haven’t stretched much, so if you’re in the middle, I’d go up a size

Since they come pre-distressed, I didn’t worry about wearing them outside. I’ve worn them all over NYC, and they’ve held up beautifully. No glitter has fallen off, and the shape stayed solid.
Because they already look worn, I can’t even tell if there’s new wear and tear.
